This was the first 5th Wheel PUMA Sold in Australia

Its been 15 months since we purchased our puma from you and can I say its been fabulous, after searching numerous shows and internet research, a chance browse of cmca marketplace led us to you guys.
Being the first registered puma on australian roads was an awesome feeling as we never expected to get our fifth wheeler so early but you guys saved us so much and we realised that some dealers were overpricing there units and effectively pricing some of us out of the market.
We have travelled approx 8,000 kms so far including our local macquarrie pass and kangaroo valley barrengarry mountain and trip to mackay in qld. To my surprise easy to tow, brakes well and cross wind tolerant and after some practice very easy to hitch and unhitch.

Robyn and I are now living in the van full time and have added solar power to roof as well as a washing machine and a pushbike rack to rear, our home is now rented out and we set out on our journey in august when robyn retires. Looking forward to seeing you in the near future as we will drop in for a cuppa. All teething problems that we had were attended to with excellent results and a smile.

Wish you all the success you deserve and thanks for helping our dream come true.

cheers
alan and robyn

We purchased our PUMA 5th Wheeler from PUMA RV’s in March 2009.  We had spent over a year searching for our ideal mobile home in which to see Australia and had visited numerous dealers looking at various brands of 5th wheelers.  We had actually decided on which one we were going to buy but on our way home from visiting this other dealer we thought we might as well call in to see what the 27’ PUMA 253 was like and we are very glad we did.

We had not spent long looking at the PUMA and talking to the dealer before we decided that this was the one for us.

Deryck liked technical things such as it being much lighter in weight and also its price tag.  Carol liked that the shower, the washbasin and the toilet were all in a proper bathroom instead of being at the end of the bedroom as in some layouts in other 5th wheeler brands, as well as the amount of wardrobe space with mirrored doors.  We both liked that the PUMA is a legal width outside including the rolled awning.  So many 5th wheelers we looked at are a legal width but then when the awning is fixed onto the outside, this puts the total width of the 5th wheeler outside the legal limit.  This may not have been much of a problem to date, but we feel that with more ‘grey nomads’ taking to the roads, that this will soon be policed much more rigorously.  Also our combination of our Land Cruiser and Puma 253 tows like a dream, and handles hills and hairpin bends with ease.

PUMA RV’s advised us that they have a good relationship with the factory where the PUMA is made and assured us that all the PUMA’s shipped to PUMA RV’s Australia are built by the USA factory to meet the Australian specifications.  PUMA RV’s also carry all the spares and repair parts that an owner might need and they will quickly mail/freight them to you wherever you might be.  This gives us peace of mind when travelling.  PUMA RV’s Australia will also customise various aspects of the PUMA for the customer’s specific requirements.

We have found that the team at PUMA RV’s Australia are more like friends now than just a dealer, and they will go out of their way to make sure we are happy with our PUMA.  They always have a cheery greeting when we phone and they are keen for us to keep in touch with them and let them know how we are going.

We are very happy with our PUMA and with the friendliness and support we have continued to receive from them, we would thoroughly recommend them to anyone who is considering purchasing a 5th wheeler mobile home.

Regards

Deryck & Carol

PUMA RV Australia

Hi guys, we have now completed our journey around Australia.  Thanks to your guidance in selecting and purchasing a 27 foot PUMA in July 2008, it has been a very smooth trip.  We have travelled more than 32,000km with our Puma and enjoy it as much today as when we bought it.  Working with you has been a pleasure, especially since we were trying to buy the appropriate RV as we live in the USA.  You have always been a trustworthy source of information and have a worthy product.

Our trip around Australia was done in three segments over a two year period.  The first four months from July to November 2008 encompassed driving from Brisbane to Melbourne and back several times.  We even had an additional four adults (all relatives) travel with us for three weeks.

In 2009 we left Sydney in April and went north to Cairns, then west to Karumba, Daly Waters,Katherine, Darwin and on to Broome and points south.

We ended up in Perth in July 2009 and stored the Puma for eight months.  The third segment took us from Perth to Margaret River and coastal towns, then across the Nullarbor to Adelaide, Melbourne and three weeks in Tasmania
completing our circumnavigation of Australia in ten months.

The Puma has been reliable, tows well on highways and even on hairpin curves and steep hills from Queenstown to Strahan TAS and the Alpine Way in the Snowy Mountains.  The stability of the PUMA when encountering large road trains at high speeds from either direction is exceptional.

We are definitely sold on our PUMA and are considering buying another one back in the States.

Sincerely,

Cliff & Merrilyn Perrin,
Mt. Vernon,  Virginia, USA
